The Puget Sound Business Journal featured SOLIS in a recent story in its popular series, Crane Watch saying, “it will be built using a super-green design and construction technique called “passive house”. A design style that is bound to capture the hearts of eco-conscious Millennials looking to enter the housing market.
Capitol Hill Seattle
According to Capitol Hill Seattle, SOLIS is taking over the former Fran’s Chocolates building on 13th & Pike, putting it “on track to be the first new condo building to open on Capitol Hill in years.” When asked by the local media outlet, it’s developer, Solterra said, “Capitol Hill residents and visitors will find corner retail with decorative steel surrounds that open to fully connect the street with café seating. Moving upward, the roof will feature a sun deck, green roof and dog run with views of Seattle’s Skyline. Sustainable sun-inspired touches will be added throughout the project, including sun-glazed Spanish tiles, Mediterranean lighting elements and a 6-story art wall. Community-oriented and eco-conscious.”
Urban Living also reported that SOLIS is a new mixed-use development, designed as a “Passive House,” resulting in an ultra-low energy building that will require little energy for space heating or cooling, reducing the building’s ecological footprint.
